Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In the United States (U.S.), October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month an annual campaign that was launched to increase awareness of the disease.  It is a researched fact when there is early detection of breast cancer, in the localized stage (typically Stages 0 and 1), survival rates average 98%.

These factors, recognized by public health professionals as “social determinants of health,” are linked to inequities in health and health care (health disparities) among racial and ethnic minorities in America.

FHF donates to Limbe hospitals

Fomukong Health Foundation donated medical facility equipment, including delivery beds, dental care beds and office furniture during the pandemic. These were handed to the management teams of the Bota District and the Mile I Regional hospitals by one-time Mayor of Limbe and Senator of the Republic of Cameroon Senator Dr. Daniel Lyonga Matute.   �

Cholera outbreak in Cameroon

Cameroon, among several countries in West and Central Africa, has been experiencing recurrent cholera outbreaks between late October 2021 and 30 April 2022. According to the health minister, as of August 2022, more than 10,300 cases of the disease have been reported and 200 people have died out.
